Consultation has concluded

Hey Mount Pearl! Planning and information gathering has begun to inform Budget 2022 and we want hear from residents and business owners. Learn how to get involved below!

There are a number of resources you can check out in the Documents section of this forum – things that can guide you along the way as we respectfully share ideas and talk about the future of our city.

Take a look at On The Horizon, the Mount Pearl Strategic Plan 2019-2023. The plan comprehensively considers our community and highlights seven important pillars that include: Digital Transformation, Citizen Engagement, Urban Renewal, Enhanced Service Delivery, Sustainable Infrastructure, Good Governance and Investing in Our People, and Economic Development.

Even though we have achieved 18 of the plan’s 22 outlined actions and activities, there’s more to do!

Mount Pearl is bursting with potential, that’s part of the reason the Find Your Centre – Centre City Renewal Plan was launched on June 15, 2021. The plan was developed and informed through community engagement (just like this) thanks to resident and business participation with input from key stakeholder groups.

Like our budgeting process, planning for the future in Mount Pearl always puts people first, embracing a vision that prioritizes a variety of mixed-used spaces like the recently proposed civic centre as well as the three “Rs” – retail, recreation, and relaxation.

Improvements and upgrades are already happening throughout the city such as new wayfinding signage, waste diversion and climate action initiatives, accessible and inclusive mixed-use outdoor spaces, and commercial opportunities in Donovans and throughout the city centre.

The budget explains exactly where and how the city's funds will be distributed to better serve you, our valued residents. So, let’s continue working together to shape the future of our community as we create Budget 2022, and thank you for being involved!
