Hey Mount Pearl!

The City of Mount Pearl is thrilled to announce progress on a new, state-of-the-art community centre at the Team Gushue Sports Complex. This 24,500-square-foot facility is designed to meet the diverse needs of our growing population, providing spaces for social gatherings, arts, recreational events, and dedicated areas for community groups.

The new community centre will replace the Park Place Community Centre and address limitations around space, accessibility, and parking. Highlights include a flexible multi-purpose hall with a stage and retractable bleachers, perfect for hosting a variety of events.

An exciting feature is the outdoor splash pad that will transform into an ice rink during winter, allowing residents to enjoy outdoor activities year-round. This multi-season space will be ideal for families, seniors, and community groups to come together and enjoy a wide range of activities.

Mayor Dave Aker shares, “This new facility reflects our vision for a vibrant, inclusive community hub where residents of all ages and abilities can connect. From social events and recreation to cultural activities, this centre will be a place where everyone feels welcome.”

The new community centre is on track for completion by early 2026, with funding provided through a mix of city contributions and cost-sharing programs. Residents can look forward to updates on the centre’s progress right here on Hey Mount Pearl.
