The City has received an application for a new water storage tank and associated site work to accommodate infrastructure upgrades to support future development in Mount Pearl. As part of these upgrades, a new water tower is proposed on the parcel located at 7 Tavenor Place, with the water tower situated approximately 350 metres east of the cul-de-sac.
A water tower is considered a Civic Use under the City’s Development Regulations. The subject area is located within the Open Space (OS) Land Use Zone, where a Civic Use is classified as Discretionary. As such, the proposal falls within the range of developments that Council may permit, subject to Regulation 4.17, which requires public notice.
