CANCELLED BRIEFING SESSION – DUE TO LACK OF REPRESENTATION, BRIEFING SESSION IS CANCELLED
PROPOSED VARIANCE – 5 PUTNEY PLACE (DA25-0278)
The City is in receipt of an application for 5 Putney Place to install a sunroom within the rear yard setback of a single detached dwelling in the Residential - Medium Density zone (RMD). The proposed sunroom measures 3.65m x 4.6m (12 ft. by 15 ft.) and would encroach 3.68 metres into the required 8 metre rear yard setback of the RMD zone.
As per Section 4 - General Regulations, subsection 4.5 Discretionary Powers, in considering an application for a permit to carry out development, Council shall take into account the policies expressed in the Municipal Plan and any further scheme, plan, or Regulations pursuant thereto, and shall assess the general appearance of the development of the area, the amenity of the surroundings, availability of utilities, public safety and convenience, and any other considerations which are, in its opinion, material, and notwithstanding the conformity of the application with the requirements of these Regulations, Council may, in its discretion, and as a result of its consideration of the matters set out in this Regulation, conditionally approve or refuse the application.
And as per Subsection 4.17 Public Notice: Prior to deciding on this application, Council requests that any person wishing to comment on the application do so in writing. Comments must be received in writing by the City no later than 12:00 noon, Wednesday, May 28, 2025. A response to this public notice shall form part of the public record. If you do not wish your name attributed to your comment, please advise the City. If no members of the public indicate intent to attend the public briefing session to be held at City Hall on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 7pm, it will be cancelled and a cancellation notice will be posted to the municipal website.
